After volunteering at our placements, we came back for lunch which was absolutely delicious, but anyway we had our first feedback meeting. This is just a time for us to talk to the staff about how we felt going to Vidya and how we can be successful volunteers and make the most of our time there. After the meeting we had our first Hindi lesson. Hindi is such a beautiful language and I do wish I had taken the time to learn more before I left, but this lesson was so great to have before we go again tomorrow to our sites. I learned some of the most important phrases like "be quiet" and "don't hit" for the Vidya kids. Then after our Hindi lesson we had a mini scavenger hunt that the staff made for us. Using the metro system for the first time, actually using any metro system for the first time is quite an experience. Haha we only went the wrong way once and almost got lost once, but we made it back to the flats all in one piece. Probably the hardest part about the scavenger hunt was crossing the street to get to the metro station. After we completed the hunt we all went to Delhi Haat (huge outdoor market) to do some shopping. I loved it. Of course many of the vendors were very very persistent, but there were a lot of really great deals for some insanely cool things. Such a great day and tomorrow we are planning to go to the national museum. And this weekend we are going to the Taj Mahal! Ahhhh whoop whoop! That should be exciting. Cannot wait and I will keep you guys posted!
